Croxteth Park Miniature Railway (Liverpool) (4k 50fps)
A great little railway that closed so many years ago and now lovingly brought back to life by a group of volunteers. Not huge but great fun. The park is vast - 500 acres - and contains Croxteth Hall former home of the Earls of Sefton

A sper railway operated in the grounds of the famous "Peco" factory. A very well maintained garden area with a very large railway. On this day there were a few problems that were managed expertly and certainly added to the fun and interest.

A very nice small railway in a massive park - said to be the largest in the UK? Arrival for me was by ferry boat from Plymouth and then a very short walk. It makes for a very pleasant journey.

Kingsbridge miniature railway is the worlds only totally solar powered railway. It runs along the harbour quayside in what is possibly a unique manner? Great volunteers and although very simple is tremendous fun.

A super location containing a village & copper mine with much of interest. The tramway ride is long and very interesting being underground for probably in excess of 20 minutes on top of the ride to the mine!

I think this is the one i went on a private visit to. Its amazing and unbelievably long. Would love to go again.
Sounds about right you would be made welcome I am sure. Watch local press probably. Thanks for watching
Morwellham Quay really is the most wonderful place. I remember going there with a girlfriend a few times in the early 80's and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Everything about the place is fantastic and I would urge everyone to visit it at least once in their lives. Its the sort of place that makes you feel like you really have time travelled and you wish you could stay there.
Its a great place especially the railway! Thanks for watching
And he goes up on the footplate there and back again... Past the rivers through the tunnels on his locomotion day in day out no commotion. 🤣😉👍
Lovely way to spend a day! All is happy - Thanks for watching
@@railsites no problem pal.😉👍
How lovely. A superb railway.
Thanks glad you enjoyed
spent many a happy afternoon here. Excellent railway and great, friendly staff.
Well done - super place but as requested by owners keep it secret lol Thanks for watching
Looks very different from monochrome in the 60's! 😮
I think possibly another site also? was originally elsewhere
This is so cool!
Glad you enjoyed - Thanks for watching
Nice to see it open again
Hi. Went as a kid now ancient and still good fun Jack !!
It's lucky to have survived it was neay ripped up a few years ago it looks in much better shape now after the orr got involved after a runaway down the bank But that is history nuff said soonest mended great line been on it times on my own as a child and with my children as an adult never fails to please I remember riding on the open wagons with park benches on so some improvement there you don't get wet when it rains now that happens a lot in England good luck to the te that run it I do know how hard they work as I do know odd members of the team
Am glad you enjoyed the video and was good to hear your story. Very glad it has survived and thanks for watching
Wow amazing railway really lovely to see this Video thank you for posting 👍🏻👍🏻

😂doʻes he haul school kids or freight like some of those beautiful English railway do Our wonderful late ERIC THOMSEN FROM REDWOOD VALLEY RAILWAYS USED TO TAKE THEIR 15 GAUGE TO ENGLAND AND HAUL SCHOOL KIDS TO S SCHOOL EACH YEAR...THANKS FOR SHARING..WE HAVE A PRIVATE RAILWAY TOO THAT WE USED TO GIVE RIDES .THANK GOD MOST PEOPLE ARE GOOD ...BUT ONE PERSON CAN WRECK IT FOR EVERYONE. ONE GUY USED TO TURN SWITCHES UNDER A TRAINS VERY SAD MANY GOD PRAYERS 😮😮😮😮❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for your comment - yes he does offer to local schools sometimes but well behaved lol. Thanks for watching
Someone has put some time into this line..shame cant be enjoyed by the public. Then again being private is like your own train set
A lot of time. It is shared sometimes just have to keep a lookout. Thanks
Yes, lots of time has been put in and there's always something that needs doing! You can find out when it's running by speaking to the right people.
@@LNERandBR Thanks for adding.
Superb layout !! Got to be a mega rich owner or is it a society ?
A private owner and it is a superb track. Thanks for watching
Pretty much owned by one person. Some of the diesel locos are owned by others.
I worked on a hydroelectric tunnel way up in Yosemite National Park about 50 years ago. They gave us these cheap little $2 flashlights to carry around, we all thought they were worthless! Until the power went out and that was the only light source we had, damn was that thing bright!! That's when I learned what Darkness truly was!
Darkness is amazing and they turn on candle power on the trip - Awesome. Thanks for watching
Thanks for making the video , very enjoyable .👍🤠
Thank you very much -much appreciated
Very enjoyable
Thanks for watching- glad you enjoyed
First Class!
I agree - Thanks for watching
Sorry about the engine push time
Sorry I dont understand the apology? but everything was really good for us?
I accidentally copied that from Roblox
A wonderful railway and yes of course we go to it at least 3 times a year. Such a friendly Railway as well and everyone is made to feel ever so welcome. David and Lily Reading Society of Model Engineers.
I must visit Reading soon !! Thanks for watching
Wow, what an excellent railway. 👍
Glad you enjoyed thanks for looking
Smart looking trains , well run system
A big track. Very well run !!
what a fantastic thing!
Glad you enjoyed
I am very interested in the miniture railway as above, can anyone give me details of it whereabouts
Private please.
👍
It's a private railway, any running days are done in aid of charity. However, to find out when it's running you have to speak to the right people in person. There's not the facilities for lots of people.
@@LNERandBR Thanks for adding that - Regards Howard
Yes, easily found if you spot the clues. 10 1/4” gauge.
lol Thanks for watching
Hello there , this looks like Cleethorpes light railway , but , Im not a hundred percent , I love mini engineering it gives old boys new skills
I am sorry guys I agreed to keep it private but it is esy to work out lol Thanks for watching
@@railsites even easier to work out when you leave the name boards in full view. The place has changed a lot since i last visisted.
Please! What's it called? Where is it, exactly? Who owns it? Do they want visitors? It looks fascinating.
Sorry agreed to keep private but it can be found. Thanks for watching
Some of us know, but not telling! Have visited, a grand day out!
@@railnut9133 Good man - thanks - a great place
If it is open to the public on select days why is it such a secret.
@@stevel1594 The owner simply doesnt want hoards of people there so it is kept very low key - his choice
really nice guys thanks.
Thanks for watching I am glad you enjoyed.
first went on this railway when 5 about 62 years ago and again about 10 years ago. caroline
Wow - hope you enjoyed - any photos?
was really great to go on it again. will have another go when next up there. Caroline ps no photos im affraid.
Well thats been added to the list!!
lol Little known I think but ace. Thanks for watching
I thought they were going to have a Le Mans start at 34 mins into video.
lol If only up to 10 mph !! Thx jack
Nice. I’ve actually been here several times for the annual “Audi’s in the Park” event with my family. Great place to visit.
I agree - a super park and railway of course. Thanks for watching
Another good visit , lucky you could get your arm out to take video
Shhh - I will get into trouble lol lol get a detention Thx Jack
I don’t know when’re we are but it’s cool
In Devon - Thanks for watching
Rode on this in the 1980s when it had the old stock. The biggest thing I remember is how slow it was! Painfully slow, it was boring. Looks a little faster now, so that's good. Very scenic!
Thanks for watching - Still a little slow but think that is part of the idea. The route is very beautiful
When I first encountered this line 25 years ago it was a single circuit but but the extension to the terminal station adds operational interest as well as providing a really worthwhile run for your money. Pre covid they also had a second even more handsome loco and had both in operation in busy periods. I dont know if this is still the case. Anyway hope it carries on and doessnt go the way of Dobwells Forest Railway - tratgic loss after all 5e effort that went into building the routes and the locos.
Thanks for watching and the extra info. I think I remember similar. Not as busy now but maybe a bit early in the season? Dobwalls was a tragic loss
Lovely place ❤ did they say what could be wrong with the loco? Interesting to see and they handled it very well 😊
The loco had done very few miles after a large overhaul so they were confused. The wheels were locked? They handled the situation very well.
@railsites ah I guess it hadn't done enough light running if that's the right word for it then.
@@trainsinmotion3782 Who knows?
It turned out to be a very minor reason, loco is all ok and running again 😀
@@reecegreenstreet3937 Really glad to hear that and thanks for letting us know - loved it all.
correction - That is not the river Exe, it it the river Sid
MM very interesting - Seems to have 2 names!! OS says Axe, Thanks for question tho
The River Sid is in a neighboring town (Sidmouth) - the trams at Seaton run alongside the Axe estuary
@@phudd9506 thanks

What a delightful little line.
I can only agree - I love it - Thanks for watching
Nice work, Howard. I especially enjoyed the second part, reverse “cab view.” Beautiful place.
Thanks - Makes a change !! lol
Went here ages ago prior the filming of edwardian farm TV series. Interesting little place and the mine railway was a excellent line to ride on, especially when you see the underground water wheel.
Glad you enjoyed your visit I thought it was really good. Thanks for watching
Oooh, it´s like a ride thru the jungle - very nice 🙂
A little jungle but a nice one lol. Thanks for watching
Fascinating. Are any of the locomotives electrical? I’m thinking the batteries might be heavy. 🤔
The miniature is battery driven and yes the batteries would be heavy Thanks for watching
This place is very cool. The old industrial hamlets are fascinating places.
A good visit especially when the hamlet has a railway !!
1986 I worked on this line for the Summer. Very enjoyable but most days going home with a sore throat. We ran round the train at the end not a top and tail. David now with a Lily. Plymouth and Reading.
A very well maintained line. Smooth. Wonder why a sore throat?? Glad you enjoyed video
@@railsites We stopped outside the mine and gave an introduction. Stopped by some drills, the water wheel and told about New Quay where we originally swapped ends with one locomotive. mases of visitors in he 1980s and often 4 trains running at a time. Voice got hammered... Loads of tea. Nice shed at the entrance we got soaked back in the day. David.
Very nostalgic. I noticed that the tram wheels change the trailing points by force.
Sprung points so always set for facing direction correctly. Saves having to get out and set them. A nice line Andrew
You have done enough research now you are ready to build your own miniature railway 😊
lol Would buy one mmmmm What a good idea
Lovely green scenery.
A good long line through the jungle - ace.
